Run for Hope is a family-oriented fundraiser with all proceeds benefiting women in our community who seek emergency shelter at Wilmington Hope House.
Make it a great Sunday in June—enjoy a beautiful setting, a scenic run/walk through our community.
For early risers, we will share in a community church service beginning at 7:00 a.m. – (Lower parking lot)
*Proceeds from the 5K Run for Hope will help with our house repairs and assist with installing new flooring on the stairway to the second floor and hallway of our shelter.*
As a 501(c)(3) public charity, we provide low-barrier, emergency overnight shelter to women and children in Clinton County. Many of our guests face domestic violence, sudden homelessness, mental health challenges, or substance use disorders. We meet them where they are—and greet all guests with compassion, dignity, and hope.
Every evening, our guests receive a warm welcome: snacks, a hot shower, clean sleepwear, and a comfortable bed. In the morning, they leave having had breakfast and receive a sack lunch to take with them on their day’s journey. Our dedicated staff, and 18 volunteers also connect women with local social services, transportation, ID assistance, and pathways to permanent housing.
Upstairs, we offer “Second Hope”—a transitional apartment for 2–3 women who are ready to rebuild their independence in a safe and stable environment. It is a lifeline.
With your support, we can continue to ensure every step our guests take—literally and figuratively—is safe and supported
