OHIO EPA TRAINING at the BWC Safety Congress

Do you wear multiple hats managing your business’s environment, safety, and health regulations? Ohio EPA recognizes that it can be a challenge to understand and keep up with all the regulations that apply to your business.

This early offering of OSC22 education includes four environmental sessions to help keep you and your business out of trouble. Continuing education credits are available. Registration for these Ohio EPA sessions is free. You must register for each session individually.

Tuesday, March 8

  • 8 to 9 a.m.  NPDES Construction Stormwater 102 by Wes Sluga, environmental specialiast: DSW (Register)
    This webinar is complimentary to 2021’s NPDES Construction Stormwater 101 and provides another look at Ohio’s construction stormwater program and the construction general permit. Topics include the permit approval process, permit coverage transfers, state/local regulations, non-compliance and enforcement, water quality volume and redevelopment, and available resources.
    CEUs: 1 hour of Registered Environmental Health Specialist or Environmental Health Specialist in Training; 1 BMP hour for C&DD Operator Certification; and 1 contact hour for Wastewater Operator Certification.
     
  • 10 to 11 a.m.  Decoding RCRA: Navigating the Basics of Hazardous Waste by William Narotski, environmental specialiat: DERR (Register)
    This session covers the basic requirements of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act to help generators understand how they should manage their hazardous waste. Topics will include waste evaluation, container management, satellite accumulation, reporting and more.
    CEUs: 1 hour of Registered Environmental Health Specialist or Environmental Health Specialist in Training; 1 BMP hour for C&DD Operator Certification; and 1 VAP Certified Professional Development Hour Unit.
     
  • 1 to 2 p.m.  Ohio EPA's Air Pollution Permit Requirements by Samira Deeb, environmental specialist: DEFA (Register)
    This session is designed to give the audience a basic understanding of the air pollution permit program including: when permits are needed, who to contact for assistance, what is contained in a permit, how to comply, how to apply for a permit and how to prepare for an air pollution inspection.
    CEUs: 1 hour of Registered Environmental Health Specialist or Environmental Health Specialist in Training and 1 BMP hour for C&DD Operator Certification.
     
  • 3 to 4 p.m.  What to Expect During an Ohio EPA Virtual Inspection by John Schmidt, environmental specialist: DSW, Olen Ackman, environmental specialist: DAPC, and Frank Zingales, environmental specialist: DERR (Register)
    Learn about the inspection process and get practical tips on how you can prepare your business when an inspector arrives virtually or in person.
    CEUs: 1 hour of Registered Environmental Health Specialist or Environmental Health Specialist in Training and 1 BMP hour for C&DD Operator Certification.
