DESCRIPTION:Chi Hoi 'Jimmy' Cheung is an emerging musician with a versatile career as a performer and\n\neducator from Hong Kong.\n\n \n\nAn accomplished pianist\, he is a laureate in numerous national and international competitions\,\n\nincluding the MTNA Young Artist Piano Competition\, Tuesday Musical Scholarship\n\nCompetition\, and the Birmingham International Piano Competition in the United Kingdom. He\n\nhas performed in major venues including Steinway Hall\, Royal Albert Hall\, and Austrian\n\nCultural Forum. An equally active collaborative pianist\, he performs regularly with students\n\nfrom the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM)\, Cincinnati Starling\n\nProject\, and Ball State University.\n\n?\n\nCheung earned his Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degree as a scholarship student at the\n\nRoyal College of Music in London\, where he studied with Leon McCawley and Gordon Fergus-\n\nThompson. He has participated in numerous masterclasses\, working with artists such as Jerome\n\nLowenthal\, Ursula Oppens\, Robert McDonald\, and Hung-Kuan Chen. Cheung was awarded the\n\nPolonsky Foundation Fellowship to attend the Aspen Music Festival and a full scholarship to\n\nattend the Bowdoin Music Festival. He was recently accepted into the highly selective Pianofest\n\nin the Hamptons.\n\n?\n\nCheung is currently pursuing an Artist Diploma and completing his Doctor of Musical Arts\n\ndegree at CCM\, under the supervision of Ran Dank and James Tocco. He is a Graduate Teaching\n\nAssistant in piano and a faculty member of the CCM Preparatory Department. He also serves as\n\nthe Chair of the Ohio Music Teacher Association (OMTA) Junior/Senior Competitions\, after\n\nserving as the district Chair of the Buckeye Auditions.
