DESCRIPTION:Timothy Snyder\, acclaimed historian and author of the New York Times #1 bestseller "On Tyranny\," will talk about his new book\, "On Freedom\," at 7 p.m.\, Friday\, October 18\, at the Murphy Theatre\, in Wilmington.\n\n         Snyder wrote in Substack\, "I am particularly happy about this discussion of 'On Freedom.' Wilmington is the county seat of Clinton County\, the setting of some important scenes in the book."\n\n        And about his decision to spend significant time in Ohio on his book tour\, he said\, "It is where I am from\; it is where the first chapter of the book begins\; and it is where I want to go to speak about freedom."\n\n        All net ticket and book proceeds from "ON FREEDOM": AN EVENING WITH TIMOTHY SNYDER will go to Wilmington's Merefa\, Ukraine Sister City Fund to support the distribution of humanitarian aid there. \n\n        Tickets for Snyder's Wilmington appearance are on sale at themurphytheatre.org and at the theatre office\, 50 West Main St.\, in Wilmington. \n\n        Readers can pre-order "On Freedom" when purchasing event tickets or at booksnmore.org. Books will also be available at the event.              \n\n        Wilmington and Merefa became official Sister Cities in 2013\, and the cities' representatives exchanged visits.
