A Brief History of the Shawnee People

A Brief History of the Shawnee People

Join us at the Environmental Education Center to learn about the history of The Shawnee People from Talon Silverhorn.
The program will cover:
• Cultural identity of the Shawnee people and back on how we fit into the larger cultural map of central North America.
• Explore our connection to Adena, Hopewell, and Fort Ancient cultures.
• Discuss colonial history and our eventual removal from Ohio.
• Wrap up the program with our modern life in Oklahoma, plus time for Q&A.
This is a great opportunity to meet Talon who is from the Eastern Shawnee Tribe. He is a Naturalist Supervisor at Great Council State Park, which will be the 76th Ohio State Park, coming soon!
Environmental Education Center is beside our Nature Center in the campground.
