Join us in celebrating the 1st anniversary of The Chess Collective with an exciting evening of strategy, competition, and community on Friday, February 27th. 

Charter Day Tournament & Celebration

• Eagles (Back Room), 141 E. Sugartree Street, Wilmington
• $5 for Competitors
• Tournament begins at 5:00 PM
• After Party & Ribbon Cutting around 8:00 PM

The celebration kicks off with a chess tournament open to the public, featuring brackets for Beginners, Intermediate, and Masters players. The tournament will follow an Open Swiss Rapid 10|0 format, with Board 1 beginning immediately after a ceremonial first move presented by a local community leader.
Business casual minimum attire.

Spectators are welcome and encouraged!

Following the tournament, around 8PM, join us for an after party with live music from DJMH and a ribbon cutting ceremony in partnership with the Wilmington–Clinton County Chamber of Commerce.

The evening will conclude with a closing ceremony and awards presentation, including the presentation of the Collective Cup to the winner of the Masters section.
