Cheers with the Chamber at Barr Pharmacy!

Barr’s Pharmacy is excited to celebrate the acquisition of Longs RX / Zeigler Pharmacy, officially welcoming the longtime Wilmington pharmacy into the Barr’s Pharmacy family. To mark this exciting transition, Barr’s Pharmacy will host a Grand Opening Celebration and Ribbon Cutting with the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, February 26 at 11:00 a.m.

The acquisition represents a continued investment in local, independent pharmacy care and ensures that patients of Long’s Pharmacy will continue to receive personalized service from a trusted community pharmacy, now backed by the expanded resources and vision of Barr’s Pharmacy. 

“Acquiring Longs RX / Zeigler Pharmacy allows us to continue its legacy while bringing additional services, support, and long-term stability to the Wilmington community,” said Marcus Barr, owner of Barr’s Pharmacy. “Our goal is to make this transition seamless for patients while strengthening the pharmacy’s ability to serve this community for years to come.”

While the pharmacy will now operate under the Barr’s Pharmacy name, patients can expect continuity of care, familiar faces, and the same commitment to exceptional service that Long’s Pharmacy has provided for decades. The acquisition also opens the door for future growth, enhanced services, and deeper community involvement.

The Grand Opening Celebration will include a ribbon cutting ceremony, opportunities to meet the Barr’s Pharmacy team, and time to learn more about what this transition means for patients and the Wilmington community.
