Cowan Lake State Park Youth Trout Fishing

Join us for a family trout fishing day at the Cowan Lake State Park Youth Pond. ODNR will stock over 500 keeper-size rainbow trout. Everyone is encouraged to keep their trout, as they will not survive once the water starts to warm up. Ice and zip-lock bags will be provided to store your fish if needed (limited supplies). Loaner poles and bait will also be provided. All fishing regulations apply. Only adults with children are permitted to fish from Saturday, March 28, through Friday, April 3. From April 4 through April 30, all anglers, including adults only, may fish. This is to catch as many trout as possible before the water starts to warm up. Starting May 1, only adults with children are allowed to fish (normal rules). Poppy's Hot Dogs & More will be at the event starting at 7:00 AM, serving breakfast and lunch.
