Join the Wilmington-Clinton County Chamber of Commerce for an in-person Economic Network Alliance on Thursday, June 2nd, featuring a special presentation from GA Telesis, LLC, and Air Transport Services Group, Inc. Representatives from both companies will discuss the recent and exciting announcement about the opening of a new facility at the Wilmington Air Park.
GA Telesis, LLC, a global aviation services integrator, and Air Transport Services Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:ATSG), a leading provider of aircraft leasing and air cargo transportation and related services, are locating a 72,000 sq. ft. Specialized Procedures Aeroengine Hospital (SPAH) at the Wilmington Air Park. The SPAH is projected to be operational in September of 2022. The facility will be capable of inducting more than two hundred engines per year focused on those manufactured by General Electric and CFM International. The location will provide economic opportunities to our region by adding 50 skilled jobs through administration and maintenance technician roles.
On Monday, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a 1.3 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project. JobsOhio will also be providing assistance for the project, which will be made public after a final agreement is executed.

Kym's career has consisted of building brands and marketing teams. Her path to the marketing role has been a little more jagged than straight line starting with her BS in Agriculture from The Ohio State University. She has laid the foundation at companies such as R+L Carriers, Crane Fencing Solutions, Airborne Maintenance and Engineering Services and in her current role as Director of Marketing for Air Transport Services Group the World’s Largest Lessor of Freighter Aircraft.
The ATSG Marketing Team drives and develops results focused marketing, branding, digital, social, public relations, event, trade show, community, ESG, and communications campaigns. Their focus is on building a cohesive brand across multiple business units that include Cargo Aircraft Management, ABX Air, Air Transport International, Omni Air International, Airborne Maintenance & Engineering Services, Pemco Conversions, LGSTX Services, TriFactor Solutions, and Airborne Training Services. They are responsible for more than eleven websites, thirty-five social media platforms, three golf events that contribute to an annual giving campaign of more than $500,000, communications with more than 5,500 employees, and developing market strategies for a global customer base.
Kym also dedicates her time to advocating for agriculture as her family has been involved in production agriculture for four generations. She is heavily involved in their livestock program and focuses on outreach to local youth in juvenile probation by providing an opportunity to exhibit livestock at county fairs. She shares her passion for agriculture with her husband, Chuck, and two grown children.
Russell Shelton joined GA Telesis in July 2020 in a newly created role as President of the Engine Strategy Group. He is responsible for managing and developing its long-term engine MRO strategy, Turbine Vision 2020. Shelton's responsibilities also include leadership of the GA Telesis Engine Services (GATES) operation in Finland.
Shelton was most recently the Managing Director of Service Sales for GE Aviation, responsible for the sale of engine overhaul, repair, material solutions, and engine trading & leasing. In his 31 years at GE Aviation, he held various positions in product strategy, sales & marketing for services and engines, in addition to the many management roles he held throughout his career with the company.
Shelton is a Mechanical and Materials Engineering graduate of Vanderbilt University. He has served as a board member of the Fine Arts Fund and honored as the Venue Magazine "Civic Leader of the Year". He and his wife Susan are involved in numerous other volunteer and fundraising activities and spend the balance of their time managing the orbits of their three daughters.
