Presentation: Occupational Eye Safety
From unexpected trauma to burns, foreign objects to screen strain, we all risk eye injuries while on the job! Dr. Ballard will review the most common occupational eye injuries, prevention methods, and what to do when an injury happens.
Speaker: Dr. Khristopher Ballard, O.D., Hillsboro Family Vision
Dr. Ballard graduated from Valley View High School in Germantown, Ohio before beginning college at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, where he graduated with honors and earned an associate's of liberal arts and sciences. He then transferred to Wright State University, where he also graduated with honors and earned his bachelor's of science in clinical laboratory science.
Dr. Ballard then earned his doctorate of optometry from The Ohio State University, where he also graduated cum laude in 2011. He was a four-year member of the American Optometric Student Association and Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society. During his studies, he was also president of the Sports Vision Club, where he organized vision screenings of all varsity athletes at Wright State University and the University of Cincinnati. He is a current member of the American Optometric Association and the Ohio Optometric Association.
He actively attends Good News Gathering church. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Alison; son, Vincent; and daughter Rosie.
