Residential Community Care Grand Opening

Residential Community Care (RCC), a provider dedicated to supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is proud to announce the opening of its second Adult Day Program location in Wilmington. To celebrate, RCC will host an Open House on Thursday, May 15 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at their new facility, located at 40 S. Mulberry Street. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 5:30 PM in conjunction with the Wilmington-Clinton County Chamber of Commerce. 

Owned and operated by Tony Mitchell, a Wilmington native and Wilmington College graduate, RCC was founded with a deep commitment to serving the Clinton County community. The organization’s mission is to lead individuals toward greater independence through faith, action, and compassion.

Based in Lebanon, Ohio, RCC offers a range of services including Residential, Vocational, Adult Day, and Transportation programs. The new Wilmington Adult Day Program is managed by Clinton County resident Sarah Hottinger and focuses on meeting the unique interests, needs, and abilities of each individual served.

Through community-based activities, skill-building opportunities, and personalized goal setting, RCC staff work closely with participants to foster independence and meaningful engagement. A key focus of the program is building stronger connections between individuals with disabilities and the broader community.

“Our hope is to bridge the gap between the community and those we serve,” said Mitchell. “We want individuals to feel understood and supported, while also helping our community become more inclusive and comfortable when interacting with people of all abilities.”

RCC operates under the motto “Treat People Like People,” a simple yet powerful philosophy that emphasizes respect, dignity, and compassion for all individuals, regardless of their abilities.

Community members, local businesses, and families are encouraged to attend the May 15 Open House to tour the new facility, meet staff, and learn more about RCC’s services and mission.
