Resume and Interview Skills Workshops

Southern State Community College will be hosting three workshops this summer on
resume writing, cover letter guidelines, and interview skills.

The workshops are free for anyone to attend.

Your resume is the first impression that a prospective employer gets of you and it will determine if
you get selected for an interview, so it needs to be a carefully composed document. In this
Workshop, you will learn how to produce an effective resume that will give you a better chance of
being selected for an interview. The second half of the workshop focuses on critical success factors
for effective interviewing. There will be mock questions encompassing what today’s employers are
looking for and participants will receive feedback on their answers. We will also cover attire, body
language, and overall personal presentation so you can be sure to send the right message to
potential employers. Any who would like, may bring a copy of their current resume and/or cover
letter to receive feedback or suggestions for improvements.
