Stop the Bleed Training
Overview: The Stop the Bleed program is a national initiative aimed at training individuals to recognize life-threatening bleeding and intervene effectively. Developed by the American College of Surgeons, this course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to administer immediate bleeding control in emergency situations, bridging the gap until professional medical help arrives.
Who is this Training for?
This training is designed for anyone interested in learning life-saving bleeding control techniques, including:

There is no minimum age requirement for the course; however, it's recommended to inform parents or guardians about the graphic content involved. Instructors have successfully taught the class to participants of all ages.
What Will Participants Learn?
The Stop the Bleed course focuses on three primary techniques to control severe bleeding:
Applying Direct Pressure: Using hands or fingers to apply firm pressure on the wound to reduce blood flow.
Wound Packing: Filling deep wounds with clean cloth or gauze to control bleeding.
Applying a Tourniquet: Using a device to constrict blood vessels and stop blood flow to a limb.
The training includes a formal presentation followed by hands-on practice, allowing participants to demonstrate proficiency in these life-saving skills. Most courses last no longer than 90 minutes.
