Stroke Education Presentations, New Provider Reception Highlight Health Event Planned for CMH Conference Center

WILMINGTON, Ohio – Area residents will have a chance to meet a number of new medical providers and hear several specialty physicians present an educational program on stroke by attending a special event--CMH Healthy Outlook 2013.

The event will be held Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Clinton Memorial Hospital Conference Center, 610 W. Main St.

CMH has added a number of new family medicine and specialty physicians in the last two years and is offering the community stroke education program as part of its process to become a certified stroke center.

Additionally, CMH service lines will be represented along with some of its community partners. Refreshments will be served and there will be drawings for door prizes.

New CMH providers include family medicine physicians Dr. Yelandra Daniels, Dr. Leo Lasala, Dr. Leo Ravikumar, and Dr. Sherif Zihni; ENT Dr. Eric Flavill; psychiatrists Dr. Charles Hendricks and Dr. Parker Niemann; plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Scott Lindsay; neurologist Dr. Andrea Manhart; general surgeon Dr. Daniel Mwanza; orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Michael Griesser; vascular surgeon Dr. Brian Santin; interventional physiatrist Dr. Aarti Singla; cardiologist Dr. Christopher Wright;; certified nurse practitioners Andrea Howard and Susan Jordan; and physician assistant Kevin Hilgenberg;

The stroke education program will include 10 minute overviews from Emergency Services medical director Dr. Keith Tofte; neurologists Dr. Andrea Manhart and Dr. Mangala Venkatesh; vascular surgeon Dr. Brian Santin; and interventional physiatrist Dr. Aarti Singla.

Also slated is a demonstration by CMH’s Telestroke robot which helps treat potential stroke patients in the ER. The robot utilizes two-way video and audio capability to transmit a patient’s medical data to an off-site physician, who can manipulate the robot to interact with the patient, referring physicians, nurses and family members.
