Veterans Day Ceremony at the Murphy Theatre

Come early: Charlie’s will be open before and during the program with fresh popcorn, hot pretzels, candy, soft drinks, and a full-service bar. Stop in for a snack and a drink, and catch up with friends before the celebration begins.

Local Veterans organizations and community partners will also be in the Murphy Theatre lobby to answer questions and connect Veterans and their families with resources.

The Military Women’s Memorial that is at Arlington National Cemetery will also be represented.

The evening’s planned sequence:

1. Patriotic music — Wilmington High School musicians
2. Presentation of the Colors — Wilmington High School JROTC Color Guard
3. National Anthem — Wilmington High School musicians
4. Invocation
5. Welcome and opening remarks — Clinton County Veterans Service Commission
6. Veteran Diaries — Clinton-Massie High School
7. Military Women’s Memorial presentation — Honoring generations of women who have served
8. Guest of honor and keynote address — Lisa Angst, joined by the family of Capt. Curtis Angst
9. Community and Veteran recognition — Veteran of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Employer of the Year, and Distinguished Public Service to Veterans
10. Closing remarks and benediction
11. Retirement of the Colors

This year, we’ll also reflect on our nation’s 250th anniversary and 25 years since September 11, 2001, and the generation of military service that followed.

Everyone is welcome. Whether you served, are part of a military family, or simply want to thank those who wore the uniform, please join us.
