Wilmington Public Library Ribbon Cutting & Open House

The Wilmington Public Library of Clinton County is excited to announce the opening of its brand-new Teen Room, located on the second floor of the library. The community is invited to celebrate at a special Ribbon Cutting and Open House on Wednesday, September 24, from 4:00–6:00 p.m. The official ribbon cutting will take place at 4:30 p.m., hosted in partnership with the Wilmington-Clinton County Chamber of Commerce. The Library is located at 268 N. South Street, Wilmington, OH 45177. 

The new Teen Room offers a welcoming space designed specifically for teens to read, study, and gather. Furnishings, including chairs, stools, and a new area rug, were generously provided through a contribution from the Friends of the Wilmington Public Library (FOL).

The FOL is a dedicated volunteer group that supports the library through fundraising, special projects, and community engagement. In addition to their contributions toward the Teen Room, the group manages book donations, hosts events, and welcomes new members who want to support the library’s mission. Those interested in joining can attend the group’s regular meetings, held at 2:30 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month in Kirk Room A.

“We are so grateful to the Friends of the Library for their support in making this project possible,” said Joe Knueven, Director of the Library. “This new space will be a wonderful addition for our teens and we can’t wait to share it with the community.”

The community is encouraged to stop by the open house, enjoy refreshments, and tour the new Teen Room.
