This position supports the Clinton County Job and Family Services Child Protection Unit
Job Duties: Under the direction of a Supervisor; assists Child Protection staff and assigned Child Protection attorney and offers services including, but not limited to relay of messages, scheduling, legal documentation, typing, data entry, and other related services as needed. Completes letters, memos, case reports, motions, court documentation and court filings. Updates and manages hearing calendar and scheduling and coordinating meetings with witnesses, preparing case files for discovery, drafting of complaints. Logs, processes, and files documentation. Prepares updates and maintains records. Works with community partners involved with child protection cases. Understands and follows child protection mandates. Maintains confidentiality of case and agency information. Complies with agency personnel policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, excellent communication skills, basic computer knowledge and typing skills necessary, ability to deal with people in difficult circumstances, experience with supporting and multi-tasking numerous responsibilities and demonstrates regular and predictable attendance. Valid driver’s license. Previous legal office experience preferred.
