Job Title: Customer Service Representative (CSR)

SUMMARY: Handles all phases of teller operations, savings, demand deposits and loan payments.
Requires extensive knowledge of bank operations. Relieves management of some routine
duties. Exercises independent judgement in most instances requiring minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPSONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):
Handles customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently and adjusts speed to differences in
customer traffic and flow.
Ensure that all CSR positions are adequately and properly covered.
Provide advice and instruction for handling CSR duties to ensure customer satisfaction.
Give input on employee evaluations for CSR’s.
Provide scheduling for CSR’s and part-time employees for maximum efficiency and minimum cost.
Has responsibility for vault security.
Balance cash item G/L account.
Ensure collection on returned checks.
Relieves management of some administrative and supervisory duties.
Ensure that all mail payments and night deposits are processed timely.
Maintain the cash vault; buys and sells cash to the Federal Reserve and controls the distribution of
cash to CSR’s and branches.
Cashes checks for customers
Receives deposits and disburses withdrawals from checking and savings accounts
Accepts payments
Issues cashier’s checks
Balances all transactions
Opens new deposit accounts
Assists with loan applications from customers for Banking Center Manager to process
Knows and follows all policies and procedures in completing transactions, minimizing operational
errors and maintaining a proper workflow
Has sufficient understanding of the consumer products and services offered by First State Bank
including a comprehensive knowledge of IRA’s
Presents a neat and professional appearance
Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
Applicant must be customer oriented and willing to follow the strict guidelines of customer service at
FSB. Applicant also spends time coaching and encouraging positive behavior of other CSR’s.
Will include other duties as assigned including First State Bank’s Standard of Performance
