Job Title: Waste Water Treatment Department Assistant 
Status: Full-Time / Hourly 
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 
Department: Waste Water Treatment 
Reports To: Waste Water Treatment Department Supervisor 
Position Summary: 
Under the direction of the Waste Water Treatment Department Supervisor, the Waste Water Treatment 
Department Assistant helps support daily operations of the wastewater treatment facility. This position 
involves assisting in maintaining accurate operational records and supporting the completion of required 
regulatory and compliance documentation. 
Duties and Responsibilities: 
1. Assists in maintaining accurate records and documentation related to facility operations. 
2. Assists in the preparation and submission of all required reports to regulatory agencies and internal 
departments. 
3. Assists in the completion of work orders. 
4. Inputs meter readings into the system accurately and timely. 
5. Maintains all tools and equipment in accordance with performance maintenance checks and services. 
6. Performs additional seasonal duties, including: 
a. Mowing municipal properties such as the pool, water and wastewater treatment plants, municipal 
building, and park. 
b. Performing swimming pool maintenance as needed. 
7. Performs wastewater treatment plant duties in the absence of the operator. 
8. Adheres to and supports all policies and directives outlined in the Village Personnel Policy and Procedure 
Manual. 
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
- Must possess knowledge of facility operations as mandated by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency 
(EPA). 
- Become knowledgeable in the department's computer system. 
- Seek continued education and training to obtain Class I and Class II Waste Water Licenses. 
Qualifications: 
- High school diploma or equivalent education level required. 
- Valid driver's license. 
- Must, within six months of employment, become knowledgeable in all tools and equipment within the 
department. 
- Reliable transportation to and from work. 
- Strong organizational, management, and communication skills. 
- Must maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate professionalism when interacting with the public. 
- Must maintain a good physical appearance. 
- Able to accomplish tasks without constant supervision. 
- Able to work with and alongside all supervisors and employees of the village. 
- Willingness to be flexible.
