Position Reports To:            Clinton County Recorder
Participation in:                     Ohio Public Employees Retirement System
 
JOB SUMMARY: The Deputy Clerk/Clerical Worker will serve in the Recorder's office at the Courthouse and elsewhere as directed by the Recorder. Tasks include: working with the public, handling mail, answering phones, reading and interpreting legal documents (after training), data input, scanning documents and proofreading scanned documents, handling and reconciling money, responding to public records requests and other duties as assigned by the Recorder.
 
Familiarity with the real estate industry, teamwork, attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to move quickly from one task to another are especially necessary for this position.  All employees are cross-trained in nearly all office procedures.
 
SCHEDULE:  
Full-Time: 40 hours/week as assigned by the Recorder.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma (or higher education)
  • Some previous experience in working with the public
  • Excellent reading comprehension
  • Typing skills
  • Math skills
 
PRE-EMPLOYMENT/POST OFFER REQUIREMENTS:
•     Valid Ohio driver's license
•     Safe driving record
•     Must be able to pass criminal background check
•     Negative drug/alcohol tests
•     Ability to lift and carry heavy books and other objects (daily)
 
STARTING PAY RATE: Dependent upon the experience, skill and qualification the candidate brings to the position.
