POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Lead Youth Advocate – Full time             DEPARTMENT: Juvenile Resource Center
EMPLOYER: Clinton County Juvenile Court                             SUPERVISOR: Resource Center Director

JOB DUTIES
The Lead Youth Advocate, under the direct supervision of the Resource Center Director, will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Conduct initial assessments and screening as required
  • Facilitate programming for youth
  • Supervise youth within the Resource Center
  • Transport youth as necessary
  • Additional duties as position evolves
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field preferred, Associate’s with experience will be considered
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, dignity, and respect for all families
  • Willingness to promote positive youth development
  • Understanding of the juvenile justice system and its processes as well as other systems of education, mental health, child welfare, etc.
  • Exemplary communication skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Maintain effective performance in stressful situations
  • Valid driver’s license
