Job Description
Purpose of Job
The Buyer Specialist ensures production and/or MRO components arrive on time to meet production or support of production requirements, meet required specification of drawing and/or request requirements, and keep proper inventory levels to support any customer demand changes.

Major Duties
  1. 20%: Monitor MRP messages and/or Purchase Requisitions and create purchase orders within MRP system to meet requirements
  2. 20%: Monitor supplier performance, report issues, and support development of supplier to meet quality expectations
  3. 15%: Monitor supplier shipments to ensure they arrive on time to meet customer expectations
  4. 15%: Work with suppliers on generating cost saving ideas such as changing resin, engineering changes, logistics savings, packaging savings, etc.
  5. 15%: Monitor inventory levels/customer demand and adjust purchase orders as necessary
  6. 15% : Monitor freight budget and reduce freight spend as necessary to maintain under budget
Bachelors degree in supply chain management, business management, economics, logistics, purchasing or business related.

Related Experience
3 years of Purchasing Experience

Special Training or Competency
Supply Chain Certification. Computer Literate – Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, communication, detail oriented, adaptability.
