POSITION DESCRIPTION: Office Administrator
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Pastor/Head of Staff; Personnel Committee Chair
EDUCATION REQUIRED: High school graduate with college preferred
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Prefer at least three years secretarial and/or administrative experience; proficiency with computers, phones, copier; requires sitting for extended periods and the ability to lift 20 pounds. Must be comfortable working in a faith-based environment.
HOURS: Office hours are 9 am to 1 pm, Monday through Friday. May be adjusted as needed by the Pastor/Head of Staff and/or Personnel Committee Chair.
PURPOSE: Provide administrative support to the pastor, Christian education director, financial secretary, staff, and committee chairs. Answer phones, greet visitors, coordinate overall functions of church office. Provide support to Timer Faith Pre-School as needed.
DUTIES: Manage all the functions of the church office, including, but not limited to: church publications (weekly bulletin, monthly newsletter, annual report, etc.); coordinate communications among staff, boards, committees, and with congregation; manage church calendar; coordinate building usage; keep attendance and membership records; maintain and update the church web site; and other duties as may be assigned. Maintaining confidentiality of pastoral information and needs of church members is crucial.
COMPUTER APPLICATIONS: Microsoft Word, Publisher, Excel, Windows, Facebook, YouTube, Outlook, MailChimp, Filezilla, Joomia.
REVIEW: An initial review will be conducted after the first 90 days of employment. An annual review will be conducted every October thereafter. Reviews will be conducted by the Pastor/Head of Staff and/or Personnel Committee Chair.
Time off may be granted with approval of the pastor. Office administrator will be responsible to see that vital tasks are covered during the absence.
