About Us

Habitat for Humanity-Clinton County is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.

Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest up to 500 hours of labor—“sweat equity”—into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Habitat for Humanity that is used to build more houses.

About Habitat ReStore:

Located at 1032 West Main Street, Wilmington, the Clinton County Habitat Restore offers new and used home improvement, furniture and home goods items for sale to the public. This is made possible by the generous donations from individuals and companies in our community and surrounding areas. The donations provide crucial income to carry out the Habitat for Humanity mission to eliminate substandard housing and create the opportunity for homeownership by building Homes, Communities, and Hope.

If anyone is interested in making donations, they may check out the approved list of accepted items found at https://clintonhabitat.org/restore. They can also take photos of the items and email them to the above email address.
