The production supervisor position is responsible for supervising shop employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
Associate Relations: Provides support to front line leadership to resolve daily staffing and performance issues. Interacts with support departments to maintain production flow of finished product. Provides positive work environment that allows associates to achieve line performance targets. Resolves associate issues and complaints in timely manner. Responsible for providing required training and education for line associates and front-line leadership.
Line Performance: Maintains and reviews line performance, works with line leadership and support staff to track and resolves performance related issues. Uses quality tools to drive problem solving activity and improve overall performance. Drives improvement activity through lean manufacturing techniques. Continuously looking for ways to improve Quality, Cost and Delivery.
Weekly/Monthly Reporting: Responsible for reporting accurate performance related material to department manager weekly and monthly basis. Data is clear and reflects gap and status of manufacturing department. Data can be used to drive continuous improvement withing the manufacturing area and overall operation. Supervisor has ability to present data in method that can be shared and understood by sr. management and executive level.
Associate Data: Supervisor is responsible for tracking associate records, approving time off, providing initial disciplinary action, associate counseling and other such associate related material. Associate information must be accurate and shared with HR in timely manner. Supervisor will support manager in conducting 1st level warning administration
Associate degree or equivalent job experience,
consider in-house job experience and
accomplishments for internal candidate.
5 years' experience leading and supervising in a manufacturing environment.
