NPAP Engineer (New Product Action Planning)

Title:
NPAP Engineer – reports directly to NPAP Manager.

Position Summary:
NPAP Engineer is responsible for leading/coordinating product development team activities within Ahresty including initial dunnage design
 
Scope of Responsibility:
Lead the AQP Team activities, coordinate launch schedules both internal and with AWC suppliers, lead engineering FMEA development and implementation in order to ensure a smooth launch of new products and design changes
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Daily Management:
  • Lead AQP Team activities to meet customer expectations and follow through to implementation and start of mass production.
  • Works with Engineering to help develop and plan for implementation of the P-FMEA. In the failure to obtain approval from customer, develop other methods and resolve the potential problems with AQP Team.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and Quality supplier activities and development
  • Helps AQP team to coordinate with the customer for development of new product dunnage.
  • Coordinate improvement activities for below target items during new model development into mass production
  1. Improvement Activities:
  • Monitor productivity targets and coordinate improvement plans with AQP team to achieve targets.
  • Applies Deming principles and other root cause analysis tools when analyzing problems within the department and makes appropriate recommendations for improvements.
  • May participate in a Quality Circle improvement team when possible.
  • Performs other related improvement functions as assigned.
 
Education/Experience/Training (minimum required):
  1. College degree (preferably in engineering or similar) or 4 years of program management experience.
  2. Comfortable leading and presenting in front of groups
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; good organizational skills; good problem solving skills with experience in the use of analytical tools.
  4. Strong knowledge and use of Excel and Word, Internet, and email.
